All over the mountains and lakes, we’re seeing trees blooming with the pastel and super-bright colors you’ve come to expect with Springfest. Our Dogwood trees are in full bloom and look like great balls of popcorn atop the aged wooden trunks while the lake begins to see more fish and more fishing boats. Above the water, we see hydrangeas, roses, tulips, rhododendron, frasier magnolia and many more stand out from even a fair distance. Below the water, we have sauger, largemouth bass and even some whitemouth bass swimming throughout the azure depths that make our area famous.
And you also know it’s Spring in the Smokies when Dollywood reopens for Festival of the Nations! This is the 17th anniversary of the park opening with this wonderous festival and there are new things being offered for this season and all throughout the park. Mother Africa is the focus again for Festival of the Nations and there are new performers taking stage throughout as well such as “Slask”, “Hodman and Sally”, “Dearbhail Finnegan and Robin Slater” and Kelly Shipe just to begin the list. Festival of Nations goes on until April 9th for 2017. See more on this at www.dollywood.com.
