For many, the only time to consider coming to the Smokies in the post-holiday Winterfest season is Valentine’s Day, February the 14th. We’re sort of puzzled by this, as this means many visitors are missing out on a whole season’s worth of romantic getaways where everything you enjoy about February in the mountains can be found throughout the season.
Once the holidays are over, East Tennessee, and by extension the Smoky Mountains and Douglas Lake, experience a prolonged atmosphere of dignity – the cool, crisp air is often some of the only sound made as the areas become uncrowded by human and animal traffic. The peaks in the distance become capped with snow and at least a few times we see that snow come down here to the lake. All of these natural elements combine to bring such a stillness to the area that one can’t help but find reflection, introspection and romance here in Dandridge.
Any day in January, February or even March can be Valentine’s Day for you and we would love to provide for you a honeymoon/romantic cabin to perfectly accentuate and provide the foundation for your getaway. See our honeymoon cabins here.
