May in the Smoky Mountains

May is a month where we have not one, but two events that bring bluegrass and barbecue to the open public in the Smokies.

The first is Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass, starting on May 13th and going on until the 22nd. For this awesome week-and-a-half, the price of admission at Dollywood includes round-the-clock performances from Backline, Flatt Lonesome, The Boxcars, The Steeldrivers, Loose Strings Band, Steve Gulley & New Pinnacle and almost two dozen additional artists playing throughout the park and the best in pulled pork, smoked sausage, chicken and much more served at Market Square. See more on this at www.dollywood.com.

The other is Sevierville Bloomin’ Barbeque & Bluegrass (if you should get the two confused, remember Bloomin’ helps separate them out) going on May 20th and the 21st. This is a rare event that takes place around downtown Sevierville on the blocks surrounding the county courthouse and it is a great time to bring families and groups out. There’s a mountain of awesome barbeque made up every day to serve visitors, more than a dozen acts, arts and crafts tables and, of course, much more. It’s the best day-and-a-half event you can find in East Tennessee! See more on that at www.bloominbbq.com.

And each event is within an hour from our houses in Dandridge. Find the right house for your barbeque and bluegrass indulgences on our cabin page.
